1. The basic principles of fixture design

1) Meet the stability and reliability of workpiece positioning in the process of use;

2) Have enough bearing or clamping strength to ensure that the workpiece in the tooling fixture processing process;

3) Meet the clamping process of simple and fast operation;

4) The vulnerable parts must be the structure that can be replaced quickly, and it is best not to use other tools when the conditions are sufficient;

The fixture should also be convenient for chip removal. If necessary, the chip removal structure can be set to prevent the chip from damaging the positioning of the workpiece and damaging the tool, and prevent the accumulation of chip from bringing a lot of heat and causing the deformation of the process system.

5) Economic good special fixture should be as far as possible using standard components and standard structure, and strive to simple structure, easy manufacturing, in order to reduce the manufacturing cost of fixture. Therefore, the design should be based on the order and capacity of the fixture scheme to carry on the necessary technical and economic analysis, in order to improve the economic benefits of the fixture in production.

1) Basic methods and steps of fixture design

The original materials of tooling and fixture design include the following contents:

a) Design notice, finished parts drawing, blank drawing and process route and other technical data, to understand the processing technical requirements of each process, positioning and clamping scheme, the processing content of the previous process, blank situation, the machine tool, tool, inspection tool, processing allowance and cutting amount used in the process;

b) Understand the production batch and the requirement of the fixture;

2) Problems to be considered in fixture design

So in the beginning of the actual should consider the problems in the process of processing, after all, fixture is based on improving efficiency and convenient operation.

c) The overall openness of the fixture. Ignore the opening, resulting in operator loading card difficulties, time-consuming and laborious, design taboo.

d) Basic theoretical principles of fixture design. Each set of fixture has to go through countless clamping and loosening actions, so it may be able to meet the user's requirements at the beginning, but the addition should have its accuracy, so do not design something against the principle. Even if it happens now, it won't last long. A good design should be tempered by time.

e) Replaceable positioning elements. Positioning element wear is serious, so should consider replacement fast and convenient. It's best not to design it into a larger part.
